Something like this.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (and other mayhem) posted these unexplained, other than 'pretty and shiny again!'
He's not gone into detail yet (it's 10am in Calif)
If I think what just happened happened, it's in the right hands. Sorta.
They go back together easy.

I'd rock the shit out of that! Throw in some suspension upgrades and chassis reinforcement to make it slightly less wallowy and you might even be able to catch a few crooks!

Fix the cigarette lighter.

I ... I don't understand. The dusty "barn find" shot shows the cruiser still equipped with light bar, shot gun, all accoutrements needed for duty. These are things that would have been stripped by the CHP prior to decommissioning the vehicle. Was this thing stolen/stashed years ago or something?

Maybe a tribute car (or whatever they call them) that was stashed not too long ago?

It was being stored for a friend. Not exactly a barn find but still cool none the less.

But ... it still has the old blue "exempt" plates. They never let those walk out the door.

Thanks, I wasn't sure at the time I posted, but he's the one who used the words barn find. Looked too nice for abandonment.

Given that the fellow is involved in Hollywood productions, it's probably an old CHiPs car. It's got more detail than the Dodge CHP patrol car they brought over for Jay Leno's show.

That would explain it ... it is the right generation cruiser to have been on the show. Good catch!

I guess I could go research, but it's more fun to speculate wildly.
Nope, no front tag. Although it has the rust spot where one would be.
Also seems to lack a driver. There's yer problem.
*note to tv chase show producers:
yes, we did notice when you switched cars just before the crash.
Every time.

Yes, I would use that as a definition of wallowy.
